Background • Listened to Central MD presentation at JWC in May 2010 and copied model for NOVA • Started program for NOVA in Jan 2011 with 6 schools and a $3K budget ($500 per school) • Created a Board of Advisors • Added a grants program • Increased to 13 schools for 2011-1012 with a budget of $13K ($1K per school)

Processes • Assess school requirements in Sept • Prioritize requirements and allocate funding ($1K per schools) • Post activities on web site requesting volunteers to support program • Raise awareness for teachers and students to apply for AFCEA scholarships. • Apply for NOVA grants (fall and spring)

  5. Activities • Science Fairs (judging, mentors, prizes) • Club Support (Robotics, Electronics, etc.) • Career Days • STEMMER Days • Adopt a School month – Oct.
