  6. Type of Wood • Very tough • Cross-grained • Hard to work • Warps easy

  7. Change in Our Tree • Went from having no leaves to have buds • From buds it sprouted leaves • A little bud is growing on the trunk of our tree • There was barely any leaves on our tree

  8. Interesting Facts • Grows up to 40 to 60 feet in height • Slender limbs grows at a right angle • Has narrow leaves • Many species of birds eat the fruit from the trees • Fall foliage makes black gum an attractive landscape tree

  9. The best thing about our tree&things we have enjoyed • It is in the middle of nowhere • Haven't seen big animals around the tree • It has vines growing around it • It has beautiful leaves • It was nicknamed by Ally & Devon 
