  2. Mission and Vision Mission • The mission of the McKeesport Area School is to educate students for the future through collaborative efforts of students, families, staff, and community. Vision • Students in the McKeesport Area School District will be provided with a safe learning environment in which all students can achieve their highest potential. Through the use of technology and other resources, students will gain the skills and experience necessary to thrive as a member of a global workforce.

Founders’ Hall currently has a great deal of technology resources. 30 Promethean Boards and peripherals Licensed and free software and applications Edline Common team and content plan periods Technology team delivers professional development These resources are being underutilized. Few boards are used Few are using software and applications. Edline underutilized Few use common plan periods effectively Infrequent professional development opportunities. Current Strengths and Weaknesses

  5. Curriculum and Learning Goal and Objectives • Goal 1:  All educators will identify, prioritize, and incorporate the use of technology to achieve learning objectives.

  6. Curriculum and Learning Objectives • Objective 1.1 Educators will increase use of interactive Promethean Boards to increase student interest and participation.

  7. Curriculum and Learning Objectives • Objective 1.2 Educators will share successful integration practices with colleagues via email and through the use of school wiki.

  8. Administration and Management Goal • Goal 1:  All administrators and teachers will embrace technology to enhance their own personal and professional productivity, decision-making, and effectiveness.

  9. Administration and Management Objectives • Objective 1.1 Staff members and administrators will use digital applications to communicate whenever possible.

  10. Administration and Management Objectives • Objective 1.2 All teachers will demonstrate the use of presentation applications to present information visually as well as verbally to increase teaching effectiveness.

  11. Communication and Information Access Goal and Objectives • Goal 1: Founders’ Hall will enhance and upgrade the communication systems to facilitate exchange between school professionals and parents to address the multiple needs of the learning community.

  12. Communication and Information Objectives • Objective 1.1 Administrators will use and maintain Edline site to communicate with learning community.

  13. Communication and Information Objectives • Objective 1.2 Teachers will communicate with parents by maintaining Edline site.

  14. Professional Development • 20-30 minute trainings, once every month, are not enough. • Professional Development should be on-going. • Technology Team will be restructured. • One coach from each content area. • Utilize common team or content plan periods.

Monitoring and Evaluating • The Technology Team and Building Administrators will be responsible for quarterly progress reports to Technology Director. • Annual reports will be published on website and in school newsletter. • Progress will be monitored through use of various forms of data including: • PSSA scores, attendance, Edline hits • Teacher, student, and previous student surveys • Teacher observations and portfolios • Wiki user statistics • Paper and postage expenses
