  3. Second Grade Curriculum Benchmark Language Arts Program Everyday Math Phonics/Word Study Program Zaner-Blosser Handwriting/Cursive Cereal City Science Social Studies: Our Community Integrated Technology Character Education (SSW)

  4. Bear Necessities • Be Respectful • Be Responsible • Be Safe Social Work Programs *Character Education Visits *Banana Splits *Active Parenting Classes

  5. HOMEWORK • A homework folder and a planner should come home daily • Reading Calendar • Math ”Home Links” • Word Study sorts • Check my website for homework and weekly newsletters.

  6. Field Trips • Sarett Nature Center-plants (spring) • Planetarium at Upton (2nd or 3rd trimester) • Heritage Center-Historical Walk/ Tour of St. Joseph (spring) • Krasl Art Center (spring) • $5 per student or a maximum of $10 per family is requested to fund this year’s field trips. • Additional donations are also greatly appreciated for those in need of financial assistance. • If writing a check, please make it payable to St. Joseph Public Schools.

  7. Snacks ONE nutritioussnack every day after first recess (usually around 10:45) Water only in the classroom

  8. Birthdays Birthday treats welcome! Food Allergy-nothing containing nuts! District’s Wellness Policy 25 students Please email me 

  9. The classroom parent will be in contact if you indicate interest in helping with any or all of the parties. All parties will be held in the afternoon. Parties Halloween (Oct. 31st) Winter Holiday (Dec. 19th) Valentine’s Day (Feb. 13th)

  10. Reminders… • Report cards • IXL and Math Center- weekend practice • Parking lot tags for pick-ups • Late Starts-Wednesdays (15 this year) • NWEA this week and in the spring • Please sign up for conference availability if you know your preference.
