  1. Ps 103:1 ¶ Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! 2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: 3 Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, 4 Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with loving-kindness and tender mercies, 5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle's. 6 ¶ The LORD executes righteousness And justice for all who are oppressed. 7 He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel. 8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy. 9 He will not always strive with us, Nor will He keep His anger forever. 10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor punished us according to our iniquities.

  2. 11 For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; 12 As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. 13 As a father pities his children, So the LORD pities those who fear Him. 14 For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust. 15 As for man, his days are like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes. 16 For the wind passes over it, and it is gone, And its place remembers it no more. 17 But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting On those who fear Him, And His righteousness to children's children, 18 To such as keep His covenant, And to those who remember His commandments to do them. 19 ¶ The LORD has established His throne in heaven, And His kingdom rules over all.

  3. 20 Bless the LORD, you His angels, Who excel in strength, who do His word, Heeding the voice of His word. • 21 Bless the LORD, all you His hosts, You ministers of His, who do His pleasure. • 22 Bless the LORD, all His works, In all places of His dominion. Bless the LORD, O my soul!

  4. Rev 5:9… for you were slain, and have redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; Jn 13:35 "By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."

  5. Sticks and Stones will Break My Bones but Words will Never Hurt Me

  6. Both the tongue and the written word are mightier than the sword.

  7. Jas 3:3 Indeed, we put bits in horses' mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body. 4 Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires.

  8. Jas 3:5 Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest fire a little fire kindles!

  9. Pr 16:24 ¶ Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones. Pr 25:11 ¶ A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold In settings of silver. Isa 50:4 ¶ "The Lord GOD has given Me The tongue of the learned, That I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary. Eph 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

  10. Jas 3:7 For every kind of beast and bird, reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. • 8 But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 9 With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the image of God.

  11. Jas 3:6 …the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell

  12. Gossip-Death Encouragement-Life • Which will you choose, life or death? Jas 3:10 Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. Do Not Be Deceived From the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Mt 12:34 Jas 1:26 If any man among you seem to be religious and bridles not his tongue, but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is vain. Only Jesus can bridle the tongue.
