  2. About Osmania University Osmania University is Ninety year old university. The university is located in the heart of the city Hyderabad. The university was founded in the year 1917 by the seventh Nawab of Nizam, Hyderabad. This university is regarded as seventh oldest university in India. This seat of higher study learning in the southern part of India did not lose its glory till date. some of important fact about osmania university is: osmania university is 90 year old university. osmania university have 1000 colleges afiliated with it. we have of 11 faculties & 50 departments. we have 400 U.G. college 200 MBA colleges we have 1,00,000 commerce graduate with 15,000 MBA PG student we have 2000 commerce teacher & 1000 MBA teacher. Various important contributions can be observed and in that respect this university stands forward. There are various economic, social and cultural development took place in nationwide. Being a historic university, it attracts students not only from various parts of India but from foreign lands also. And now for the B.com, M.com and MBA courses, Osmania University proposes to develop e-content to assist and facilitate the students for engaging, interactive and active learning.

Objectives • Introduction and induction of web-based learning for the students of • the University & the Nation. • Generation and development of E-content material for the NME-ICT. • Establishment and creation of an alternative learning environment for • the students of Osmania University, Hyderabad and the under • graduate and graduate students of the country. This would also help to • enhance the capabilities of students nationwide. • Making the university competent with regard to e-learning and • e-learning technologies.

  4. Deliverables • The project would deliver 3500 e-courses of e-content for 175 subjectsin the streams of : • Bachelor of Commerce ( B.Com) • Master of Commerce (M.Com) • Master of Business Administration (MBA)

  5. Content Development High standards would be used in content production which would also conform to international standards especially keeping quality in mind. The main features of the proposed e-content are mentioned below and would cover 3500 e-courses for the respective courses of B.com, M.Com and MBA. In order to make learning far more interesting to the students, the content would use Learning Objects which would help develop an interest in the students as compared to the practice of passive teaching. This approach of a more captivating and stimulating method would go a long way in enriching and upgrading the levels of proficiency and skill of our students.

  6. Quality content would be developed using graphics, 2D and 3D animation and video clips which would be based on resemblance to real life situations and scenarios that the student would notice. The use of such medium to explain concepts would be more captivating for the students and would also help in sustaining interest in them towards the topics covered. The content would also be made keeping in mind the understandability and scope of learning of the average student but would also meet the normal standards and yardsticks in terms of the ease of concepts and language as well as the accuracy of the topics covered in the instructional model.

Framework to be used : The framework of Home, Objectives, Summary, Transcript, Case Studies, FAQ’s, Video and Audio, Assignments, Quiz, Tutorial, References, Glossary, Links, Downloads and Contact Information would be used as per the parameters indicated in the Mission objectives. The Co-investigator would ensure that these practices and parameters are followed. Experienced project coordinators would handle the development of the academic content.

Monitoring of the Project Implementation A Project monitoring committee will be formed that would observe and monitor the project and would also look into aspects such as Quality and On-time delivery. A team from the university would be constituted to aid and help with this regard. The academic content would be prepared by the university academic staff. The multimedia development and production is going to be outsourced to an agency which already has an exceptional track record and reputation of such multimedia production. Assigning of the job to team members and negating any communication gaps between them for the successful completion of the project would be taken up by the Principal investigator and the co-investigator. With the help of the co-investigator, the Principal Investigator would play an important role in the smooth operations and success of the project.

Time Schedule for e-Content Development 1st Year objective: To complete 880 e-courses, this covers total 1styear B.Com & 1styear M.Com Syllabus 2nd Year objective: To complete 1540 e-courses, this covers total2ndyear B.Com, 2ndyear M.com, 1styear MBA & 1styear MBA Technology Syllabus. 3rdYear objective: To complete 1080 e-courses, this covers remaining 3rd year B.Com, 2nd year MBA & 2ndyear MBA Technology Syllabus and total is 175subjects with 3500 e-courses.

  12. Budget Estimate

  13. Budget 175 X Rs 7 Lakhs = Rs. 1225 Lakhs ( Time Schedule : 36 months from the date of commencement of production ) As Pilot: 10 % of 1st year Budget = 10% of Rs. 375.2 Lakhs = Rs. 37.52 Lakhs for Pilot. In which we develop 100 e-courses in three delivery model.

  14. Management of Deliverables and IPR etc. Management of deliverables will be taken care of by the University with periodical updating on content. IPR can be taken care of by either University or MHRD as per the instruction of NME-ICT. The content materials developed would be novel and are would be value added materials. The e- content developed in the proposal would be of high quality with advanced experimental demonstrations. Some of the research based content materials may be patented by MHRD.

  15. Justification The present proposal uses and involves the development of unique and Modern type of e-content material with experimental illustrations. Such use of experimental demonstration is required to make the material more interactive and engaging for the students as well as increasing the acceptability amongst them and the teachers. It would also help in the upgrading and enhancing their knowledge of basic and applied concepts and their importance.
