Switch 1 Switch 2 Ethernet circuit Infovista IPSLA IPSLA Router 2 Router 1 • Architecture • Two sites separated geographically via Global Ethernet connection • Need to enable and monitor IP-SLA between the 2 sites • IP-SLA can run between Switch 1 & Switch 2 or between Router 1 & Router 2 • Monitoring and performance measurement to be in-band to Ethernet circuit • Infovista need to report utilization, latency, packet loss, included timestamps and based on 1 second samples. • Router: Necessary to allow IPSLA performance monitoring • Requirement • Ethernet based IP-SLA details @ http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/ipsla/configuration/guide/sla_metro_ethernet.html#wp1056118 . Is it feasible if I go for a normal 3750/2950 switch or do I need to have Metro Ethernet switch for the same? • How to make IP-SLA work with 1 second samples. Is it possible? • Router/Switch make and model to support the same • Configuration details for the same.
