• Resolution to establish an Ad-Hoc Group was adopted atthe August 1999 meeting in Santiago.• A Charter for the Ad-Hoc Group was endorsed by theICANN Board at November 1999 meeting in Los Angeles.• The Ad-Hoc Group should identify the key technology,commercial and economic drivers that will affectaddressing and numbering in the Internet.• The Ad-Hoc Group will work through a Public CommentForum on the ICANN website.• The ICANN Board has invited a small Editorial Group tocoordinate the Forum.

Assessment of the likely impact resulting fromtask 1 on the administration of IP address space.• Task 4. Identification of key addressing requirements andtrends that may impact on global policy formation.
