NPRM 99-231 • Proceeding has been bifurcated • R & O issued on WBFH • DSSS Processing Gain Test issue remains active • Commission authorizes WBFH • Modifies Part 15 rules for FHSS • 125 mW power limit • >15 non-overlapping channels spanning 75 MHz • 2.5 Hz hop rate • DSSS Processing Gain issue not decided • RAH Group passed resolution to contact FCC in November • Forwarded motion to 802.11b HR SG for joint action Jim Zyren, Intersil

Conference (WRC) • WRC expected US proposal for global allocation of upper UNII band for RLAN apps • current world allocation: 5.15 - 5.725 GHz • does not include ISM band at 5.725 - 5.825 GHz • But…US had no proposal • US needs to make request for inclusion of 5.725 - 5.825 GHz band into global allocation for RLAN • Needs to be included in agenda for next meeting • 2003 • proposals from industry are needed! • More info: http:\\www.ero.dk Jim Zyren, Intersil
