  2. Best Practices • State and local data suggest that attention should be placed on phonetic consonants and vowels. Students demonstrated mastery in most mathematical procedures. African American subgroup scored lower than all other sub-groups in this sample across all academics. • An administrative team is initiated to discuss the instructional core of the school. An action plan is implemented to address standards not mastered by students.

  4. Gathering Data on Student Mastery Adaptive Testing Instructors Gathering Data Emphasis will be placed on best practices of gathering data on student mastery. It is extremely important that instructors understand what standards student have mastered. Administration will administer adaptive screener test to established student mastery. Testing is conducted every nine weekly. Teachers will incorporate several techniques to ensure data is gathered.

  5. Technique 1: Target Question • Teachers will ask carefully chosen questions directed towards a designated sample group to check for understanding of the concepts

Technique 2: Standardize the Format • Teachers will access data from adaptive screener test. • Teachers will incorporate a learning management system such as Schoology, Canvas, Google classroom, and Emondo. • The learning management system should track assessments, classwork flow, quizzes, and projects.

  7. Technique 3: Show Me • Teacher will create activities that will allow passive students to demonstrate their mastery of standards. • This will allow teachers to observe student mastery. • Teachers are able to correct misunderstanding immediately.

  8. Technique 4: Affirmative Checking • Teachers will insert checkpoints where teachers can check to see if student work is correct. Teachers are able to connect misunderstandings immediately. • Techniques with explanations will be provided in lesson plans.
