AQS Data Mart – what is it? • It’s a database with all the data (since 1980) from AQS in it • Copied from AQS to keep AQS fast for loading • 1.72 Billion raw and NAAQS average values (as of 7/21/08) • Commensurate daily and annual summaries • Targeted for application builders and health researchers • It’s on the “public” side of the EPA firewall • To keep AQS safe • It allows for applications to be connected to it • Like Google Earth!

Connected Applications • AQS Data Mart Direct Interface (750/mo) • AirCompare (8,000/mo) • KML Files (1,800 in first 3 weeks - of KML) • RSIG (can’t yet track) • EPHT (EPA  CDC project) (can’t yet track) • AirNow + VIEWS exchange (in progress)* • AirExplorer (planned) • Exchange Network (planned)

Tools to Help with Understanding Data • The “Field Guide” • Available at the Data Mart website • Documentation Section • http://www.epa.gov/ttn/airs/aqsdatamart/documentation • 2200+ entries • Pretty dry and some areas need improvement • ~ 25 downloads per month this year • A wiki may be in the works • Wiki = user edited content • Does this worry you?
