  1. Bad vs. Good Multimedia Design By: Tina Burnias

  2. The next slide is an example of a bad multimedia design.Try to figure out what is wrong with it.

  3. 2011 Newberry Award Winner T Moon Over Manifest by Clare Vanderpool was written telling two stories from the same town in two different time periods. It contained newspaper articles and advertisements, as well as the storytellings of the diviner, Miss Sadie. I thought it was interesting how the two stories came together when Abilene found the secret box of mementos and later met Miss Sadie. Miss Sadie, although telling her own story, was telling the story of Abilene’s father and his past, a story Abilene so desperately wanted to know. As Sadie was telling her stories, drawing Abilene back each day, I was drawn back daily, hoping that Jinx and Gideon were one in the same. Changing font for the telling of the stories in the past created a good transition as well, thus the reader could easily differentiate the past from the present. Once the two stories came together, it was truly wonderful. Moon Over Manifest Book Trailer

  4. Could you figure out what went wrong there? Way too much information on one page (and Newbery is misspelled – always check your spelling)!

  5. The next few slides should give an example of a good multimedia design.

  9. A good design will be appealing to the eye, with age appropriate content. Content should follow proper grammar rules (Newbery was spelled correctly).

  10. These were just a few tips to keep in mind when you are creating a multimedia presentation. Have fun creating!
