  2. Reunion Host Joyce J. Elam, Ph.D. Dr. Joyce J. Elam is Executive Dean and James L. Knight Professor of Management Information Systems in the College of Business Administration at Florida International University (FIU), Miami, Florida, and Dean, FIU Online. Dr. Elam was a Marvin Bower Fellow at the Harvard Business School during the1987-88 academic year. She earned both her PhD in operations research (1977) and her BA in mathematics (1970) from the University of Texas. Dr. Elam is a recognized expert in the strategic use of information technology and the use of information technology to support both individual and group decision-making. She is responsible for an annual research study which surveys women-led businesses in Florida. She is also the faculty leader for Women on the Move, a women leadership development program offered twice a year through the FIU Center for Leadership. FIUBERLIN.COM

Reunion Faculty Advisor Walfried Lassar, Ph.d Walfried Lassar is the Ryder Research Professor, chair of the Marketing Department and Director of the Ryder Center for Supply Chain Management at Florida International University. Dr. Lassar teaches in the Executive MBA and Master of International Business Programs as well as Executive Seminars. He has won multiple teaching and research awards, created several new academic programs, and runs national conferences on Green and International Supply Chain Management. In addition he created the successful Marketing Roundtable series at FIU, a cooperation between the marketing department and with the Dean’s Alumni Circle. Dr. Lassar's research spans the topics of marketing strategy in channels of distribution, brand equity issues, and services marketing as well as supply chain strategy. His research projects deal with international dimensions of marketing and distribution strategy and integrate e-commerce aspects of competition. Dr. Lassar’s supply chain research focuses on supply chain strategies to create competitive advantage and investigates green supply chain management’s effect on profitability. His research has been published in the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Business Logistics, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Business Venturing and the Strategic Management Journal among others.
