Mission Statement “ GCBA facilitates professional networking and education among UCLA Anderson students, business professionals and entrepreneurs of the Far East, connecting students to businesses based in the Greater China Region. GCBA also treasures and celebrates Chinese Cultural heritage.” GCBA is both a professional and an identity club.

  4. History • Established in 2002-2003 by several MBA students • Promote awareness and opportunities in the Greater China Region • Currently has more than 60 active members • Relies on the initiative of its board to accomplish Goals • Aiming to continue mission and solidify the club’s presence

Major Events • Woo Greater China Business Conference • “Day-on-the job” in Hong Kong (and China) for career in Banking (and Consulting) • China Trip during Spring break • “Work in China” panel held by 2nd-year students who worked in Greater China over the summer • Speaker Series • Quarterly FEMBA Mixers • Spring Festival Party • Possible Mixers with CSSA and/or other B-school students

External Affairs • Mission: • Create connections with outside student communities and CSSA of universities in LA area. • Programs include: • Chinese New Year Party • Asian Heritage Month • Social Mixers • Career Development Panel Discussions • GCBA Speakers Series • One 1st-Year Directors wanted: • What you will do • Bring outside talents to help GCBA events • Assist event logistics and planning • What you will gain • Network opportunity and FUN, FUN, FUN! • What we want you to have • PASSION & IDEAS! Finance • Mission: • Proactive financial planning and strict budget control to boost GCBA’s long term growth • Responsibilities: • Draw up annual budget and manage bank account • Collect membership dues and maintain the roster • Reimburse prepaid expenses and raise funds • One 1st-Year Directors wanted: • What you will do • Coordinate major club activities and control the event budget • Contact Student Service Office to work on the process of ASA fund application • What you will gain • Financial expertise and all-dimensional participation of GCBA’ events. (Approval by finance team is always needed) • What I want you to have • Uncompromised integrity • Enthusiastic, detailed-oriented , and patient • Microsoft Excel skill is a plus Ling Sun Vice President

Alumni Relations • Mission: • Bridge Anderson alums and current students • Responsibility include: • Maintaining and updating GCBA alumni database • Running surveys among GCBA alums • Organizing networking events with alums • Liaising between GCBA and Alumni Relations Office • One 1st-Year Director wanted: • What you will do • Build Anderson Greater China Employer catalog • What you will gain • Great network opportunity • What I want you to have • Time commitment • Willing and able to communicate with different people Wen Li VP-Alumni Relation Patricia Hsu VP-Alumni Relation

OVERSEAS PROGRAM • Mission: • Initiate and organize overseas special events • Programs include: • China Study Trip (Spring Break) • Special Events • Two 1st-Year Directors wanted: • What you will do • Assist with promoting China trips (marketing job for you!) • Assist with logistics (connect with exchange 2nd-yr student/contact with local companies/travel schedule/language) • What you may gain • FREE trip to China (almost) • What I want you to have • Dedicated, responsible • At least one of you speaks Chinese. • Love China! CAREER DEVELOPMENT • Mission: • To promote the Anderson brand name and scout career opportunities for current students and alums in the Greater China region • Responsibilities: • Hong Kong / Days-on-Job (Investment Banking) • Recruiting / interview workshops • Career fair at China Conference • Two 1st-Year Directors wanted: • What you will do • Contact recruiters in Hong Kong / Mainland China • Arrange logistics of HK DOJ • What you will gain • Networking and proof of commitment • What you should have • Leadership, teamwork, initiatives, patience Judy Zhu Vice President Jack Zhu Vice President

Marketing & Communications • Mission: • Strategically develop GCBA’s brand and communicate club affairs internally & externally • Programs include: • GCBA Website Design • Management of GCBA’s Yahoo! FEMBA • Mission: • Promote GCBA to Professional MBA Students • Encourage Pro MBA students to contribute to GCBA and share their knowledge and experience • Programs include: • FEMBA Mixer • Special FEMBA friendly events • One or two 1st-Year Directors wanted: • What you will do • FEMBA Liaison for GCBA • Assist event logistics especially DOJ HK FEMBA Portion • What you will gain • Great opportunity to connect with full time MBAs • What I want you to have • Enthusiasm to help promote GCBA among FEMBAs George Sun Vice President

Woo Greater China Business Conference aims to bring business leaders, professionals, academics, and students together to discuss business trends, challenges, and impacts of the increasing role of Greater China in the global economy. Woo Greater China Business Conference • Ten 1st Year Directors Needed • What you will do • - Assist 2nd years in attracting speakers to the conference • - OR assist with event logistics, marketing, or fundraising • What you will gain • - Conference organizing experience • - Networking with CEO-level speakers and Mr. Woo himself • What you need to apply • - Strong personal network OR the burning desire to expand your personal network (esp. those who want to work in China) • - Commitment to the conference in both your 1st and 2nd years
