WHO WAS INVOLVED IN THE ORGANISATION OF MOBILITY? • THE AREA OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS • The Section of Projects and International Relations • The Mobility and Information Section • The Language Center • The programme “Vivir en Murcia” (Living in Murcia) → Accommodation and residence licences.

  3. The Section of Projects and International Development The Section of Projects and International Development • 1. Launch of the call: report to local newspapers / 1 general informative session/3 informative sessions in specific faculties (Economics and Business, Biology and Education)/2 general mailings to the community/a crowded office during the application period. • 2. Selection process: contact with the academic staff: Deans, Directors of Departments and international coordinators at the faculties.

  4. The Section of Projects and International Development • 3. New meetings with selected outgoing applicants and mailing to the incoming students and teachers. • 4. Contacts with the involved faculties and academic coordinators • 5. Contacts with the Mobility and Information Section: arrangement of inner and reception issues.

The Section of Information and Mobility • Preparation of invitation letters, contracts and learning agreements • Elaboration of informative documents for outgoing and incoming students • Internal issues: contacts with Deans, Directors of Departments and Master’s programmes and also with academic coordinators/ administrative proceedings for students enrollment/recognition of studies abroad

  6. Section of Information and Mobility • Orientative session on September the 3rd: enrollment proceedings, smart card, academic coordinators, etc…Also attended by representatives of the programme Vivir in Murcia: meetings with the police. • Specific meeting with master’s and doctorate students for enrollment proceedings on September the 7th.

  7. THE LANGUAGE CENTER • A SEPTEMBER INTENSIVE COURSE OF SPANISH (60 HOURS) SPECIALLY DESIGNED FOR ERASMUS MUNDUS STUDENTS. FREE OF CHARGE.

  8. MAIN PROBLEMS • INFORMATION PROBLEMS • Selection process/criteria • Deadlines not met • Some missing universities/study programmes/information etc.. • General proceedings step by step • Travel tickets and other practical arrangements

  9. MAIN PROBLEMS 2. PAYMENT PROBLEMS: • Late agreement with Trento, too late • No transfer to Murcia, no advance requested • National Identification Number

  10. MAIN PROBLEMS 3. ACADEMIC PROBLEMS • Selection process • Language problems • Lack of coincidence between the programme and the university deadlines

  11. SOME SUCCESSFUL STORIES • A WHOLE FAMILY FROM LAOS • LANGUAGE SUPPORT PROVIDED BY ACADEMIC STAFF • FOR PARTICIPANTS, INTERNATIONAL MOBILITY IS ALWAYS AND AFTER ALL A SUCCESS AND FOR UNIVERSITIES, IT IS A QUESTION OF PRESTIGE AND A WAY TO DEVELOP.
