  5. Who is My Plates? • My Plates • Texas based company located here in Austin • Marketing focused • Service focused • Customer focused • With expertise in the design, marketing and sales of Specialty plates.

  6. How did we get here? • My Plates • answered a competitive RFP called by TxDOT • was awarded a contract on November 8, 2007 • to design, market and sell My Plates developed specialty and personalized license plates here in the State of Texas

My Plates role • To maximize revenues realized by the State of Texas through the sale of Plates; • Guaranteeing the State a minimum $40 million additional revenue increase over the first five years of the contract. • Increase sales of specialty license plates • Increase market penetration across the state currently less than 1%

  8. Our Experience? • My Plates • Experience stems from Australia • Personalised Plates Queensland (www.ppq.com.au) • A successful joint venture with the State’s DOT • Achieved $30m is sales in 2007 • In a state with less than one fifth the number of motor vehicles in Texas.

The Specialty plate market in Texas • Since 1965, over 40yrs of history • Over 100 different plates on offer • Texas has less than 1% market penetration • One of the lowest in the nation • Specialty plate category has been in decline • Low levels of general awareness and interest • Lack of any real understanding of the category • 99% of Texans don’t have a Specialty plate

  11. We’ve been here before • Queensland (Australia) • 15+ years of trading history before PPQ • Low market penetration rates • Low interest in the current range in plates • Program was in decline

  12. We’ve been here before • Since PPQ in 1998 • Double digit growth • Delivering overall category growth • Now 9-10% market penetration • Existing “theme” plates within the program increased on average 10% during PPQ’s first year.

Projections for Texas • Increase market penetration to over 5% • Increase the overall awareness and interest in the category of Specialty plates We commissioned two sets of independent research that indicated up to 26% of Texans have a pre-disposition to purchase a Specialty plate at some point.

  16. The Facts Q. What happens to existing Specialty Plates? A. Existing Specialty plates that are currently available will still be available. No change.

  17. The Facts Q. Will your current customers have to pay more for their existing plates? A. NO. Your existing customers will not have to pay more for their existing Specialty plate. Existing SLP’s can be renewed under the current annual fee. There’s no increase in the plate pricing for existing Specialty plates.

  18. The Facts Q. What happens to your existing fee arrangement with TxDOT? A. NOTHING. Existing Specialty arrangements will remain unchanged.

  19. The Facts Q. How will consumers find your plates? A. All existing Specialty plates will be available through the My Plates website.

  20. The Facts Q. How can you benefit from the program? A. My Plates marketing program will stimulate consumer interest in Specialty plates. Sponsoring organizations can leverage off this interest to increase the sales of their plate.
