    13. How can you help? Send someone from each of the local sections to the LDC We especially want leaders from dormant and struggling sections We hope to see some new faces and diversity Put LDC information on your web site

    19. 19 Volunteer Recognition Awards What are the Volunteer Recognition Awards? Initiated in 2007 to recognize AIChE volunteers nation wide for their tireless efforts Support volunteers in attending national AIChE meetings throughout the year Aid Local Sections in helping their volunteers to continue to volunteer Recognize those that go above and beyond in their service to AIChE

    20. 20 Volunteer Recognition Awards 2008 Introduced the “Shining Star Award” to recognize individuals identified by their section as “outstanding contributors” Program budgeted for 9 awards. Only 7 were nominated! 2009 Program – re-establish original program with defined evaluation criteria

    22. AIChE Program Planning Grants Presented By:

    23. Assist local sections with their membership outreach efforts by encouraging development of a program plan that involved more than a single event. Supports outreach to broader section membership Series of events under an "umbrella" of a larger program with identifiable objectives and goals Encouraged to think "outside the box" Grants awarded twice per calendar year with maximum value of $1000 2008 Deadline – September 30th 2009 Deadlines – March 31st and September 30th 23 Program Planning Grants

    25. 25 Project Connect Assists local sections with their efforts to reach out to students, and increase membership and participation of recent chemical engineer graduates and new engineers.. Supports outreach to new and young engineers and students Typically single event programs Evaluated on Innovativeness and ability to become "best practice" Grants awarded quarterly with maximum value of $600 Plan to award $1800 per quarter

    28. 28 AIChE Portal – Strategy #3 Goal Statement: To create an environment on the web where chemical engineering focused products and services can be accessed by and collaborated on with the global chemical engineering community. Such products/services to include: Shared technical content in the form of live and archived conferences, webinars, publications, and on-line seminars/courses Virtual communities ( geographic/topical/product-centric and ad-hoc) Collaborative information creation Shared career advancement content/job search Virtual meetings and trade shows

    36. 36 Webinars Free live and archived webinars as a member benefit started in 10/07 30 live events run to date All are archived Registrations varied from 10 to 300 Changed original class limit from 100 to 200 to 300 and with each change hit maximum capacity Consistent 50% no-show rate

    37. 37 Live Webinars 6752 registrations for 30 webinars since 10/07. 3340 people. 96% of people attended six or fewer (59% took just one) 55% are 39 or younger (17% are 18 to 24)

    38. 38 Member Benefits All active professional members will be entitled to 6 free (mix of live and archived) webinars each year All active student members will be entitled to unlimited archive views each year All past archived webinars will be free for all members, in perpetuity

    41. 41 Timeline May 1,2009 – Soft launch of pricing, member ‘credits’, new User Interface. Content will be webinars (live and archive) predominately. May 1-31, 2009 – Testing of functionality by members and staff. June 1, 2009 – Hard launch. September – December 2009 – Inclusion of publications, meeting papers, etc.
