  11. Researcher quotes: I'm confident the lights are working, especially for bringing out the reds in my plants. I'm using fast-growing plants that under conventional lighting need high intensities to grow red in color. I just wanted to say that I notice a difference with the LEDs. They are beaming down at a few specific plants and having a noticeable positive impact. I think the grow rate has increased but more importantly the morphology and especially the color of the plants has changed for the better. The most noticeable difference appears in a plant called "sunset“ hygrophilia polysperma. The tops of that plant have become bright reddish/pink. I just wanted to let you know that I continue to see good growth under your lights. One of my plants reproduces by sending out runners to the surface where it grows new plantlets. When these runners go directly under the ruby grow bar clusters they seem to form leaves. In this way it seems like your lights stimulate growth, perhaps even better than the compacts. Things are going well, there are now over 2000 views of my initial thread on the forum. There continues to be quite a bit of interest in your lights, there's over 1700 views of the thread on plantedtank.net, and over 600 on pricenetwork.ca. I also notice that someone else has these lights and has started their own thread, and seems to be happy with them as well. http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/lighting/24164-led-grow-lights.html http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/ http://pna.pricenetwork.ca/index_pna.php http://www.pricenetwork.ca/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=41562 http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/lighting/26464-seans-led-growlights.html Kevin Guelph, ON, Canada Kevin's mention of "sunset" hygrophilia polysperma turning a bright red is huge. In plant lighting this is the plant that's mentioned as the standard by which grow lights are measured. Apparently it's very difficult to get the plant to produce the full red color in an aquarium.
