  7. EHPM Strategic Plan What does EHPM Need to Succeed? 1. Quality technical input into EU Policy Making How? Through EHPM’s working groups 2. Strong contacts with key decision makers in the European Institutions and Member State Governments that support the food supplement industry How? • Through lobbying by EHPM Chairman and Director General • Through lobbying by national associations • Through event organised by EHPM to promote the food supplement industry and industry best practice (Quality Guide) • By using the ‘SME’ Angle and UEAPME Membership to gain high level political support

EHPM Strategic Plan 2014 Presents Great Opportunities • New European Parliament elected in May and will begin work in earnest in September • New membership of relevant European Parliament committees (ENVI & IMCO) presents opportunity to increase influence of EHPM and its national associations • New European Commission to be appointed in the Autumn present opportunity to promote fresh thinking on a range of issues including: • Health Claims • Botanicals
