  2. Its like taking care of your Wife !!! Selection – opt for a reputed Brand Use – with care ( if possible don’t share ! ) Wash and clean – yourself Sterilization Maintainance Storage

  3. Intra-op care Use an adequate sized instrument trolley Do not pile instruments Avoid mid-air transfer of scopes Grasp the telescope securely

  4. Intra-op care ….. Secure Scope to patient drape Do not activate energy source whilst probe tip is within the scope. Be Gentle at all times !

  5. cleaning Use proper brushes Flush all channels Dry the instrument – Air dryer ? Lay them on a separate trolley after wash Inspect instruments , specially scopes before and after.

  6. Storage Original container with soft sponge Cabinet – preferably with Glass front . Have a “ System ” Be careful when closing the lid of container / suitcase.

  7. Sterilzation Glutaraldehyde – brand, tray size ETO Formalin Chamber

  8. Maintainance Oil the joints Clean telescope lens Change stop-cocks / nipples “ most are low maintainance ”

  9. Scrub Nurse / Assistant Needs to know the instruments and your technique thoroughly

  10. Are you a “ Transporter ” ? Special considerations
