  3. SELECTING MEASURING INSTRUMENTS BASED ON OBJECTS MEASURED 1. Meter The meter is a tool measure the length of objects including the width and the height of objects. Unit of length is used, among other cm, m, and km.

  4. There are several forms of meter : • Meter Ruler Meter ruler is commonly used in schools for the learning process and usually used to measure the length of objects like pencil, note book, and eraser.

  5. b. Fabric meter Fabric meter is commonly used by a tailor to measure the length and width fabric.

  6. c. Small meter Small meter is a meter used by a carpenter or bricklayer. Things that are measured in length must be less than 10 meters.

  7. Large meter Large meter is used for measuring the length or the width of soil.

  8. 2. ScaleScale is a tool to measure the weight of the object. Weight units used are, among others, ton, kw, hg, ounces, and grams.

  9. Bathroom scale The scale is used to measure body’s weight

  10. Household scale This type of scale is commonly used by housewife. For example, for knowing the weight of the flour and sugar. In the household scale, the measured objects cannot be more than 6 kg.

  11. Sitting scale Sitting scale is used by merchants. The thing that is weighed is maximum of 10 kg. many traders also use the household scales.

  12. Gold scales or balance Gold scale is used to weigh jewellery.

  13. CLOCK Clock is a tool to measure time. Units of time often used are, for example, second, minutes, and hours.

  14. Here are some examples of clock types • Wall Clock This is a walk clock, the clock on the wall including analog clock, this clock uses three needle as a pointer.

  15. Table clock This is a digital clock, This watch excluding a table clock digital, this clock uses numbers as timepiece. Units of time often used are second, and miutes.

  16. Alarm Clock An alarm clock is a clock that is designed to wake a person at a specific time.
