  3. WHO WAS FRANCISCO PIZARRO? Francisco pizzaro was born 1n Trujillo (now known as Spain) in the year 1471. No one actually knows the real date. Pizarro first worked on a pig farm. Whenhe was a teenager, he worked on the Spanish army with his father. Back to Table of Contents

  4. He went to South America because he heard that there was lots of gold there. No one sent him; he came of his own accord. Why did he Explore? Did you know that Francisco was the first European to use the Pacific coast of South America? He claimed it for Spain. Back to Table of Contents
