  7. A note about the vocative case… • Vocative case = case of address • For all declensions except 2nd, the vocative singular is the same as the nominative sing. This is also true for 2nd declension neuter sing. & 2nd declension masc. nouns ending in -r (e.g. puer, vir). • 2nd declension nouns ending in –us, drop the –us and add –e (e.g. domine, Marce) • 2nd declension nouns ending in -iusdrop the –us completely in the vocative (e.g. filī, Salvī).
