  4. The story starts with Forrest telling his life's tale to people waiting at a small town bus stop.

  5. The plot The film Forrest Gump represents the American dream in a land of opportunity. It is starts in Alabama, where we meet Forrest Gump, an “intelligent idiot”. He struggles through childhood with his best and only friend Jenny.

  6. His 'mama' teaches him how to live and choose his destiny. She wanted the best for his son and managed to have him admitted to college

Forrest joins the army for service in Vietnam, finding new friends called Dan and Bubba, he wins medals, starts a table tennis craze, creates a famous shrimp fishing fleet, inspires people to jog, create the smiley, write bumper stickers and songs, donating to people and meeting the president several times.

  8. However Forrest is not interested in all this and only thiks about his childhood Love Jenny. The girl made many mistakes in her life, but in the end she comes back to him and gives him a son.

  12. Ku Klux Klan: Forrest is named after a big Ku Klux Clan leader so there also is a bit racism in Forrest’s family. It was an organization first founded (started) in the South of the United States after the American Civil War to protest against the new government. The Klan was scared that the population in the South could lose their democratic rights. The Klan members believed that African Americans were inferior to white people. The KKK tried to deny their human rights by burning crosses or threatening black people. If people did not react, the Klan killed them. The KKK was prohibited in 1871. After 1871 many KKK members were imprisoned.

  13. Civil Rights (mixed races schools):The African-American Civil Rights Movement (1955–1968) refers to the reform movements in the United States aimed at abolishing racial discrimination against African Americans and restoring suffrage in Southern states.

Viet Nam War: occurred in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia from 1959 to April 30, 1975. • The war was fought between the communist North Vietnam, supported by its communist allies, and the government of South Vietnam, supported by the United States and other member nations of the Southeast Asia Treaty Organization (SEATO).

Anti-war demonstrationagainst Vietnam in the US from 1965-1971 was the most significant movement of its kind in the nation's history. • The United States first became directly involved in Vietnam in 1950 • Prominent senators had already begun criticizing American involvement in Vietnam during the summer of 1964, which led to the mass antiwar movement that was to appear in the summer of 1965. • This antiwar movement had a great impact on policy and practically forced the US out of Vietnam.

  17. Watergate Scandal: • The Watergate scandals were a series of Americanpolitical scandals during the presidency of Richard Nixon that resulted in his resignation on August 9, 1974.
