CIC - STCW Hours of Rest • Question 1 • Is the watch schedule with shipboard working • arrangements posted in an easily accessible area? • The schedules shall be established in a standardized format in the working language or languages of the ship and in English. • Easily accessible areas include navigation bridge, engine control room and ship’s mess rooms.

CIC - STCW Hours of Rest • Question 1 • Where the schedule is not posted, or not readily available, not in standardized format, not in the working language or languages of the ship and in English, then • Deficiency: - Schedules for watch keeping personnel not posted as required • Action code: 17

  4. CIC - STCW Hours of Rest • Question 2 • Is the ship manned in accordance with MSMD or an equivalent document? • • The minimum safe manning document • • Certificate of competency • • Certificate of proficiency • • Medical certificate

If actual crew number or composition not in accordance with the MSMD or the flag State not advise the ship may sail, the ship may be detained • Deficiency: - Vessel not manned in accordance with MSMD • Action code: 17 / 30
