CfA Strongly Considering Moving MMIRS to MMT • Issues Attending a MMIRS Move: • When do we move it? • Would like to allow programs in progress to finish • Would like to allow observers to use upgraded instrument • Will depend somewhat on funding for move, esp. vis a vis the sequester • Would SAC consider allowing Megacam-only operations? • Megacam will be mothballed if not, demand is low at MMT • Commission f/5 instrumentation seems moot • Expect MMIRS would return on 5 year timescale • ( I will be 65 years old at that time) • SAC input requested
