  2. Contact: Olivier.Chetelat@csem.ch Project Idea: Smart VestEU call: H2020-PHC10, 16, 19 or 2 Project Idea short description: Fully automised process for the manufacture of custom-made (personalized) smart vests Short Description: Good physiological signals are obtained with well-fitted vest. However, strategic end-users usually have a large variety of body shapes due to age or obesity. Therefore, there is a need for the manufacture of personalized smart vest fitting the body shape and with an easy process for assembly of the vest with the sensors. IP situation and commercial viability: CSEM has a large patent portfolio about button-like standalone sensors for physiological signals Potential Applications / Applications: Health, Fitness and Wellness, Sports, Security, etc. Potential Consortium/Competences needed: --- CSEM for the sensors --- x for the body scan (up to a 3D torso model) --- y for the taylor (translate the 3D torso model to garment model, taking into account gravity, fabric elasticity, etc.) --- z for the knitting machine (translate garment model to seamless «printing» of vest)

  3. Good signals = well-fitted vest = personalized vest especially important for obese, elderly, etc. Advertisement/Presentation of the ”end product” button-like sensors body scan computer model computer-controlled seamless knitting maching personalized vest with embedded button-like sensors

  4. Contact: Olivier.Chetelat@csem.ch Project Idea: Universal medical modelEU call: H202-PHC25, 24, 28 or 16 Project Idea short description: Use (all) patients with their real environment to develop further the UMM Short Description: Clinical trials as performed today are more and more difficult to be performed due to increasing regulation. Moreover, they do not fully take into account influences of external factors. Clinical trials of the future will be more with cell culture and with (all) real patients. The idea is to use the huge amount of data from more than 1 billion patients that will be available in the future to automatically refine the UMM (universal medical model). IP situation and commercial viability: CSEM has a large patent portfolio about the development of button-like standalone sensors for the measurement of many physiological signals Potential Applications / Applications: Health, Pharma, Medical science Potential Consortium/Competences needed: --- CSEM for continuous wearable monitoring --- x for data minining, data reduction (incl. modelling) --- many, many others (still unclear, concept to develop by computer scientists)

  6. Contact: Josep.Sola@csem.ch Project Idea: Individual cardiovascularEU call: H2020-PHC19,16,24 or 25 Project Idea short description: European Alliance for easy individual cardiovascular risk assessment Short Description: Assessment of cardiovascular risk is nowadays performed on the basis of statistical analysis as proposed by the WHO: a subject is classified as risky/safe according to risk factors such as physical activity, diet, lipid blood content… which are calculated on a worldwide risk basis. This project aims at creating novel cheap tools to assess individual CV risk by: 1) developing easy-to-use unsupervised sensors (self-beaming ultra-sound, PPG, IPG, …) 2) developing easy-to-observe numerical cardiovascular models (distributed windkessel models, arterial stiffening models, cerebral circulation, …) that can be observed by the sensors in 1) 3) and finally by categorizing subjects according to their particular cardiovascular status IP situation and commercial viability: CSEM has a large patent portfolio about the portable physiological sensors Potential Applications / Applications: Cardiovascular risk management, Personalized Health Care, cost reduction in healthcare systems Potential Consortium/Competences needed: Physiological sensors, cardiovascular imaging, cardiovascular modelling, clinical trials
