  2. Early Life • He was born in 1809 in Kentucky • At age 9 he moved to Illinois • Also at age 9 his mom died • He loved reading books and read by the fire every night • His father made him cut wood even though he didn’t like it

  3. Family Life His dad sent him to become a lawyer. He found that he was not interested in being a lawyer. He was married to Mary Todd Lincoln on November 4, I834. They had 4 sons named Robert, Edward , William , and Thomas.

  4. Presidency • Abraham Lincoln was elected for president in I86I. • He ran with his vice president Hannibal Hamlin. • He tried to end slavery because he saw what they went through. • After that he tried to end the Civil war ,but slavery did not cause it .

  5. Assassination • Abraham Lincoln went to the movie theater and watched “Our American Cousin” . • The assonate waited for the funniest part to hope that the sound of laughter wound cover the gun shot. • He shot Lincoln in the back of the head with a 44-caliber Derringer. • The person who killed Abe was John Wilkes Booth.
