What is it? • Mexican Holiday. • Celebrating the Battle of Puebla won by 2000 Mexican peasants over 6000 French soldiers in 1862. • In Mexico several towns re-enact the Battle of Puebla in a day long dramatization. • In America, it is an opportunity to celebrate Chicano culture with Mexican singing, dancing and feasting.

  5. How is it Celebrated? • 2 day celebration starts with a Low-rider car show and hydraulic showdown, in the evening on day 1 • Day 2 Cinco de Mayo parade down Cesar Chavez Boulevard • Salsa Tasting Contest • Live music and entertainment both days
