NBDIPProject Description/ Wayfinding • Urban Fast Forward Hired, March 2013 • Improve, develop, market & promote Clifton Business District (Ludlow Avenue) • Working group: CTM, CBPA, Uptown, 2020 • Perceived: Lack of Parking Seen As Reason For Economic Decline of Ludlow Avenue Business District • Visitors, Residents & Local Merchants Clifton Business District

NBDIPProject Description/ Wayfinding • Reality: Merchants’ Lot has public parking for 92 autos • 4 gateways to Ludlow Ave Business District • Merchants’ Lot is on Howell Ave & is not visible from Ludlow Ave • Small 12”x 20” wayfinding signs to the parking lot • Project Would Guide Visitors to Merchants’ Lot • 12’ (foot) parking pylon on Howell Ave • Replace directional signs with larger 18”x30” signs Clifton Business District

NBDIPProject Description / Telford Avenue Awning • Both projects bid ready • Laura Martin, Transportation & Engineering • Wayfinding signage conceptual drawings • Telford Ave. awning conceptual drawings • In the Heart of Business District is Telford Avenue • Across from public plaza • Corner that houses Graeter’s, La Poste, & Sitwell’s • Originally Part of Clifton Streetscape • Seating area on East & West side of Telford Ave • Poles were designed, engineered & erected • Tabled due to lack of funding Clifton Business District

NBDIPEstimated Budget • Wayfinding Budget of $16,500. • Parking Pylon $11,000. • Directional Sign Replacement 2,000. • DOTE design refinement, engineering & specifications 3,500. • Awning Budget of $13,500. • Material & Construction $10,000. • Connectors to attach awnings 3,500. NBDIPProject Status / Time Frame • Assuming Funds Become Available July 1, 2014 • Wayfinding Project is Ready to Bid, Laura Martin, DOTE • Mid – July Community decides on design • Late July Meet with DOTE for detail specification • August DOTE approval • September DOTE specifications drawn • October Bidding and purchasing approval • Nov – Dec Fabrication and installation Clifton Business District

NBDIPProject Status / Time Frame • Assuming Funds Become Available July 1, 2014 • Awning Project is ready to bid, Laura Martin, DOTE • Mid – July Community decides on material & color • August Forward to fabricators for pricing • Sept – Oct Bidding, purchasing approval • Oct – Nov Fabrication & installation Clifton Business District

  13. NBDIPSummary • Maintaining a vibrant business district is a challenge for a small community. With the help of this funding the Clifton Community • Hopes to increase foot traffic in the Ludlow Business District • As visitors leave their autos in the Merchants’ Lot • They will stroll down Ludlow Ave • Discovering unique boutiques, international cuisine, cultural arts • And an imaginative, colorful awning covered respite on Telford Avenue. • Thank – you for considering this minor grant Clifton Business District
