BEE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT WORK STREAM OBJECTIVES OF THE BEE SDWS • To create a mechanism for facilitating Skills Development for Black Economic Empowerment in KwaZulu-Natal • To facilitate stakeholder collaboration and skills development as one of the elements of Black economic Empowerment • To create a skills development mechanism that is Youth bias • To channel different skills development opportunities towards black youth

  6. BEE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT WORK STREAM FUNCTIONS OF THE WORK STREAM • Facilitate Skills development Projects in general • Establish or strengthen the provincial Skills Development Fund • Facilitate BEE Skills Development Projects targeted towards Youth

  7. BEE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT WORK STREAM COMPOSITION OF THE WORK STREAM • Various Relevant Government Departments • Various Relevant Government Entities • Representatives of the Youth Development agencies/Organizations • Private Sector Representatives (At a Later Stage)

BEE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT WORK STREAM RECOMMENDATIONS • Relevant institutions support the establishment of the BEE Skills Development Work Stream and appoint a representative to serve on this committee • DED should drive the process of the work stream establishment until such time a champion institution is appointed and DED will continue providing secretariat • The Skills development Work stream to facilitate the implementation of all Skills development projects in relation to black economic empowerment
