  1. How to Reduce Separation Anxiety in Your Baby? 5 Proven Tips All babies typically undergo separation anxiety, however, tears are worst around 10-18 months. Though separation anxiety may be painful for both parents as well as babies, it is a good sign that your baby is well bonded with you. Of course, it is not easy to pretend normal, walk away through a Texas pre school, and hand over your baby to someone else for the rest of the day. Here are some proven tips to handle separation anxiety in babies. Allow your child mingle with strangers on an early note Before you get your child to a daycare, get your baby acquainted with babysitters, relatives, and daycare staffs who will be taking care of your little munchkin. Children start befriending people between 6-8 months. Allowing your child to mingle with the caretakers on an early note will make him/her more comfortable with them and prevent separation anxiety later. Practice being apart Babies experience separation anxiety as they get habituated to spend all their time with you. They realize that objects and people exist even they are not in sight. It makes them upset when you suddenly leave them in a new environment with new people for a long duration. To help them understand that you come back after some time, practice being apart in your home, ideally before you get them to a daycare. When you leave them to hide in the next room, tell them that you are coming back after a while. Choose the right time Separation will be less painful and less melodramatic if your baby is in a good mood when you leave. So, make sure that s/he is well fed and rested before you leave them with the babysitter or in a childcare. Spend some time if s/he is not feeling good. Distract Spend some time with the baby in the daycare center before you leave. This way your child will get comfortable with the environment and daycare staffs while you are still there. It will give time to your baby to get engaged in play and distracted with the fun time so that you can depart without much drama.

  2. Say goodbye If your baby struggle with the separation anxiety after you sneakily leaves, start a short goodbye ritual. It may help him/her to feel comfortable with the day’s routine. You can also introduce your baby’s favorite toy or stuff. Parenting is perhaps the most difficult job in the world and comes with many hurdles. Separation anxiety is one of them. Be ready to face it.
