This project led by Janelle Anderson of Minnesota Department of Transportation aims to compare the effectiveness of "enhanced" guide sign fonts with existing fonts like Series E and Clearview 5WR. The study will evaluate legibility distance as a measure of effectiveness, with a focus on nighttime data collection. The duration is set for 24 months, supported by partners from Minnesota, California, Florida, and Iowa. Initiated with 100% SP&R approval, the project has secured $120,000 of the required $150,000. FHWA may join the project, contributing to its success. For inquiries, contact Sue Groth at sue.groth@state.mn.us.
