3. DLR 2Fire Support, Surveillance & Target Acquisition Systems DLR 2 is responsible to provide operational direction and management advice for the acquisition of all Army indirect fire systems, ground based air and munitions defence systems, specific surveillance and target acquisition systems and air/aviation support to Land operations systems.

The guns can fire extended range ammunition up to 18 km. The lg 1 is also transportable by the new griffon helicopter. The first six light guns were delivered in dec 95 and delivery of the upgraded c1 should start in mid 1996. The contract for the 105mm extended range ammunition was awarded in oct 95. However, the 105mm is not going to be the primary weapon of the artillery.
