  1. Facilitated Action Planning Student Success and Support Program Implementation Summit 2013 September 24, 2013

  2. Student Success & Support Program (SSSP) Implementation • What’s working well at the campuses in terms of SSSP implementation? • What are some of the challenges in implementing SSSP? • How might some of these SSSP challenges be addressed in light of what you’ve learned at the conference? • How can the Chancellor’s Office be most helpful to you in your efforts? What tools would be useful that can be developed at the state level?

  3. Broader Student Success Agenda • In consideration of a broader student success agenda, what is working well at the campuses? • How are the Student Services and Instructional divisions working with one another? • What are some of the challenges in gaining momentum to move students forward along the pathway from entry to completion?

  4. BREAK-OUTS Discuss the questions in Break-Out groups (20 minutes). Select a Recorder & a Reporter. Recorder to summarize this discussion. The Student Success & Support Program • What’s working well at the campuses in terms of SSSP implementation? • What are some of the challenges in implementing SSSP? • How might some of these SSSP challenges be addressed in light of what you’ve learned at the conference? • How can the Chancellor’s Office be most helpful to you in your efforts? A Broader Student Success Agenda • In consideration of a broader student success agenda, what is working well at the campuses? • How are the Student Services and Instructional divisions working with one another? • What are some of the challenges in gaining momentum to move students forward along the pathway from entry to completion?

  5. BREAK-OUTS • Stay with your break-out groups, but work alone (or in college teams of 3), to develop at least one action that you would like to carry out at your college in light of the Student Success & Support Program or a broader student success agenda. (15 minutes) • The big question is: How will you go about implementing at least one action at your college? • More specific questions may include: • What are the outcomes you hope to achieve as a result of implementing this action? • How do you think this will be received? • Who are your biggest advocates? Who should be part of your team? • What are your greatest resources? • Who and what are your greatest challenges? • What else do you need to take this action (other than money)?

  6. BREAK-OUTS Reconvene with your Break-Out group (15 minutes) Within your break-out groups, discuss: • What actions do the colleges plan to carry out at their respective campuses? • Recorder to document a summary of the actions

  7. WRAP-UP Reconvene with the entire group (15 minutes). Reporter from each break-out group to share a summary of the following: • What is working well in SSSP and/or in moving a broader student success agenda forward? • What are some of the challenges? • How can the Chancellor’s Office help? • What are some of the actions that will be implemented at the campuses? Note: This summary will be shared during the Closing Session.
