  2. To end the talent crunch, the Government of Australia has increased the permanent migration from 160 000 to 195,000 for the years 2022-23. The Government has shifted its focus to inviting more long-term migrants with skills and potential to contribute to Australia's economy.   3. The Skill stream alone will have 34,000 places available for Regional visas, an increase of 9,000 places compared to what was estimated earlier.
