  2. A website (also written as a web site) is a collection of web pages and related content that is identified by a common domain name and published on at least one web server.

  3. Websites are typically dedicated to a particular topic or purpose, such as news, education, commerce, entertainment, or social networking. Hyperlinking between web pages guides the navigation of the site, which often starts with a home page.

  4. Importance of Website • A Website Can Help You Grow Brand Awareness A website is easily shareable across social media networks. Therefore, it can effectively increase brand visibility and let more people know about your services and products. Thereby a site can grow brand awareness and drive more eyeballs to it.

Start with a free Canva account. • Select a website template. • Choose your own graphics, colours, fonts & logos. • Publish your design as a website. • Canva will display your website link, once you click publish. It will look something like canva.com/design/… then a series of letters and numbers. • Once you have your website link from canva, I would recommend that you use Bitly.com to convert it to an easy to remember, short link for you to be able to share. For examplebit.ly/vawebsite • Alternatively, purchase a domain name and forward your website to your domain. • Easy to update, simply update in canva

  10. PHASE 1Selecting Templates

  11. Open your Canva App. • On the search box, type website.

  12. 3. Pre-designed website templates will appear you can choose from.

  13. 4. Filter the pre-designed template by navigating in the filter for the specific style, theme and price.

  14. 5. Choose the pre-designed website template that suits to the purpose of website you want to make by clicking the specified template.

  15. 6. Before we start changing the design of the website, we can preview the website by clicking “Preview”

  16. 7. After clicking the preview button, another page will appear. Just select “with navigation” to navigate in different page of the website.

  17. 8. After selecting with navigation, you can also resize the website for mobile to ensure mobile friendliness by clicking the “resize on mobile” then close.

  18. PHASE 2 DESIGNING / CUSTOMIZING THE PRE-DESIGNED TEMPLATE

  19. Change the Brand Color Click any element and navigate to text color. Select color and change all.

  20. 2. Change the background. Just click the background and navigate to color and change the background color with your desired color.

  21. 3. Customize the website pages starting from the first page up to the last page. Just click any element you want to customize such as the changing the text with text you want,inserting video and customizing the pictures.

  22. 4. Linking a web page to another web page or to external link. Just select text, click link and select the page or external document you want to link with.

  23. 5. Add web page You can add page by navigating to “add page button” and selecting lay-out.

  24. 6. Preview (after changes) Just follow the steps in previewing before changes. Choose with navigation and resize on mobile then close.

  25. PHASE 3 Publishing the Website

  26. Navigate to “Publish as Website”, choose free domain, then click continue.

  27. 2. Another page will appear, we will navigate to URL to change with your specified name, change the name to displayed in the tab and describe your website then click publish.

How to update the website? • Select the previously published website. • Update any element in the page you want to update. • Re-publish the website by navigating to the “Publish Website” button and clicking continue.
