Mental Disability Program Goals

  • To raise awareness on mental disability issues through Mass Media, roundtables, exhibitions etc.;

  • To advocate the program to representatives from multiple stakeholder groups;

  • To establish a network of people interested in MD issues in Armenia.

  • To exchange the ideas regarding allocation of state funds in NGO sector in the field of Mental Health

The main objective of this project

To organize 3-days Conference in Yerevan with participation of representatives of leading NGOs from CIS countries and Eastern and Central Europe, also Armenian participants-representatives of mental health NGOs and governmental agencies from Yerevan and other regions.

  • 30 Armenian participants-representatives of mental health NGOs and governmental agencies from Yerevan and other regions.

  • Cooperating with Ministry of Welfare, Ministry

  • working in the field.

  • The conference provided an opportunity to learn from the experience both NGOs and Government perspective;

  • Participationof 50 representatives of local and international NGOs, government officials, governmental agencies, users, ex-users, and family members in Open Policy Forum on collaboration in mental health in July 2003;

  • Organizing local policy forum to bring together key people and organizations to initiate actions in improving mental health.

  • Negotiations about exchange visits between Municipality of Vilnius and Municipality of Yerevan was discussed.

  • The conference was covered by different newspapers and broadcasted on 3 TV channels.
