Construction Projects in Varanasi The foundation stone for several development projects worth over Rs 19,150 crores was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. PM Modi emphasized the modern bus shelters, airport and train station amenities, and the ongoing restoration work on the Ganga Ghats. Railway Projects Regarding railway-related initiatives, PM Modi launched the New Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Nagar-New Bhaupur and mentioned the dedicated eastern and western freight corridors. In addition, he conveyed his happiness over the commissioning of the 10,000th locally built railroad engine. The Prime Minister praised the government's efforts in the field of solar power, citing an example of an 800 MW solar power park in Chitrakoot. He emphasized the significance of projects in Deorai and Mirzapur to meet the state's petroleum product requirements. Varanasi Beautification The Prime Minister spoke about Varanasi's beautification, emphasizing its growing importance as a religious and tourist destination. He emphasized the thriving tourism industry, job creation, and efforts to improve tourism facilities, such as the Unified Tourist Pass System and the launch of the tourist website 'Kashi.' PM Modi emphasized the government's commitment to Viksit Bharat (Developed India) and the success of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, which connected millions of people across villages and cities.
