  2. Nirupama Rajapaksa Nadesan is renowned for her unique approach to empowering the economic stability of the nation. The Rajapaksa family is a well-reputed political family in Sri Lanka. Mahinda, Gotabaya, and other reputed names are connected to this famous political dynasty. Their prominent contributions to Sri Lankan politics have been started in 1936 when Don Mathew Rajapaksa represented the Hambantota district in the State Council. Since then, the Rajapaksas have consistently registered their dominancy in the country's politics.

Nirupama Rajapaksa Nadesan Role in Sri Lanka Politics Nirupama Nadesan was appointed as Deputy Minister of Water Supply & Drainage in 2010 after she has been elected as the Member of Parliament a couple of times for Hambantota District. Being a member of the Parliament of Sri Lanka and a government minister, Nirupama has devoted his time to serving the needful and focusing on making reforms to uplift the standards of water supply in the country. Her approach has always been reflected in her social works and contributions to Sri Lanka politics where she always remains ready to face the challenges and provide the nation with a new path of economic growth.

Born in 1962, the broad-minded political leader was inspired a lot by the contributions made by his family members in the nation's politics and hence, she joined the Sri Lanka Freedom Party and started his political career. During the second presidential term of Mahinda Rajapaksa, she got the opportunity to join the ministry of water supply and drainage where she actually got the power to embark on some notable changes.
