  2. Where Can Hcps In India Access Comprehensive COVID-19 Learning Material ?

  3. COVID-19 has taken the world by storm. So far, millions of individuals have been infected and thousands have lost their lives. The toll could have been far worse if wasn’t for brave healthcare professionals around the world. Day and night for the last few months, HCPs on the frontline have devoted themselves to the fight against this pandemic.

  4. However, this is a novel illness, one that we have never encountered before. Therefore guidelines, safety precautions & other aspects that are vital to effectively handle the situation are not easily available. Research teams from around the world are still working hard to unravel the virus and how to tackle it. And, while they have made excellent progress, getting the information from scientists & researchers to frontline workers has proven to be a challenge.

  5. Now that COVID-19 numbers are beginning to rise in India, HCPs in India need to be armed with the latest information to fight the outbreak. They should have access to comprehensive learning materials that will help them effectively control the spread of COVID-19 in India. But the big question is - where can HCPs access this sort of information ?

  6. The Medical Learning Hub is a Platform That Could Hold the Answer • The Medical Learning Hub or MLH, is a peer to peer platform that enables healthcare professionals to search and register for trainings globally! The platform operates with an ambition to create better training opportunities for healthcare providers and transform medical education the world over. • During the early days, when COVID-19 had just started to create ripples in the rest of the world, MLH released a series of webinars with leading medical experts & virologists. These webinars covered the basics of managing the spread of this disease (a webinar with IMA MS President Dr AvinashBhondwe). Along with this, MLH also released a webinar with world renowned virologist Dr. William Hasseltine who gave his valuable perspective on the disease. Finally, a third webinar by Dr. Mukesh Gupta, AMC President was added covering the topic of pregnancy during COVID-19.

  7. Judging by the response to these webinars, MLH decided to setup a COVID-19 resource centre. Here, HCPs could stay updated with the latest information, learning materials and courses on the corona virus. Today, this resource centre has nearly a hundred different courses, webinars, videos, learning materials, etc. for HCPs in India to go through. • This resource centre covers a wide gambit of COVID-19 related topics from an impressive number of courses. Government health bodies, leading NGOs, renowned medical schools, research bodies and more have used MLH to disseminate vital information around COVID-19. Some prominent names include the Indian Medical Association, AIIMS, AMC, the Catholic Health Association of India (India’s largest health NGO), etc.

  8. There is information for nurses, courses on how to effective dress and undress COVID-19 caregivers, how to disinfect surfaces & equipment, how to prepare quarantine & isolation zones, studies on how to handle different & severe cases and a lot more! Therefore, if you are a healthcare professional and you are looking for relevant and updated information on COVID-19, the COVID-19 resource centre is a good place to start. Hope this has been helpful, good luck and all the best!
