What will you cover in this unit? • What were the strengths and weaknesses of selecting an idea to raise awareness of sustainable issues in school? • What will be done to improve the selection of a raising awareness idea in the future? • How to use a SWOT analysis effectively to reflect on this challenge. • What were the strengths and weaknesses of the problem solving skills used in this challenge? • What will be done to improve the problem solving skills in the future?

  5. TASK 1: Complete the table using a traffic light system to assess progress in skills used in this challenge on page 40. UNDERSTAND LITTLE UNDERSTAND SOME UNDERSTAND FULLY

  6. TASK 2: ‘PRESENTING THE RAISING AWARENESS ISSUE’ Answer the following questions on page 41: • How did you present your raising awareness issue? • What were the weaknesses with the presentation idea? • What would you do to improve the presentation in the future? • What other presentation techniques could be used? • Why were they not chosen?

  7. TASK 3: ‘THE RAISING AWARENESS PROJECT’ Complete a SWOT analysis of your problem solving activity on page 42. Identify the strengths and weaknesses of your investigation as well as the possible opportunities and threats that may be encountered when trying to identify and suggest ways to make your school more sustainable.

TASK 4: Write up your personal review of this mini challenge on pages 43 and 44. • What skills did you use in this project to help you solve your problem? • What were your main strengths? • What were your main weaknesses? • What were the opportunities or threats? • What other methods could you have used to help you solve the problem? • What other methods could you have used to identify the environmental problems around the school? • What would you do to improve upon your weaknesses in the future when problem solving?
