RATIONAL MODEL FOR COMPUTING Q PEAK DISCHARGE FROM A WATERSHED OR SUBBASIN

Where Q = Peak discharge in cubic feet. Per second

A = Area of the watershed in acres

C = Coefficient of runoff for the watershed, based on area-proportional, combined runoff coefficients for slop, land cover and soil types

T = Concentration time (in minutes)

I = Maximum rainfall intensity (in inches per hour) that can occur during the concentration time

M = Mannings’s coefficient of roughness

Q = f ( A, C, T, I, M )
