  4. Parking Tag & ID • We can issue one for today only. • After today you will need to go to Public safety to get one until you are in the system. • You are Required to get a pictured ID taken and carry it on you whenever you are on ISU property. 5-3

  7. Phase II Orientation HMSU 8:00 - 4:30 • Breakfast and Lunch will be provided • Mini Presentations - Public Safety - Library Services - Telecommunications • Letter of notification

  8. Advanced Connections • Specific to Universities • 6 months after start date • 6 hour customer service training • Three 2-hour sessions

  11. Brief History of ISU • Founded in 1865 as a Teacher’s College. • 9 member Board of Trustees appointed by the Governor, governs University business. • We are employees of the University not the State. • The Board decides pay increases & pay changes if promoted or reclassed. No merit likely.

  17. Important Information-II • Attendance - 3 day job abandonment • 10 paid Holidays / Winter Recess • Vacation - Handbook page 4-13 • No Firearms on ISU property • Sick Leave - 4-14 & 4-15 • Must be in pay status before/after holiday • FMLA - After 1 year (up to 12 weeks protected time off)

  18. Important Information-III • Grievance Procedure - within 5 days • Child Care - ISU ECEC • Smoking Policy - 15 to 20 ft from bldg. You could be fined up to $500 • Flexible scheduling - as allowed by the supervisor • 15 min break as permitted • Bad Weather 237-7777

  19. Important Information-IV • Work related illness/injury must be reported to supervisor within 24 hours. • Purchase of hang tags. • Personnel Records • Unprofessional Conduct - Grounds for Termination (Sleeping, fighting, theft, drugs & Alcohol)
