Testing Innovations and Expanding Access to interventions (1) Midwifery: • Sponsorship programme for midwives • Strengthening midwifery education, regulation and associations • Institutionalising MPDR at district hospitals and HCIVs • Increasing coverage for skilled birth attendants up to HCIIIs • Increasing coverage for EmONC at District Hospitals & HCIVs • Expanding access to PAC services in District Hospital & HCIVs • Expanding access to fistula management at Regional Hospitals

Testing Innovations and Expanding Access to interventions (2) Family Planning: • Support for RHCS at national, district and facility levels • Increasing resource commitment and favourable policies for FP • Institutionalising MTC at national and district levels, at in health facilities • Increasing coverage for FP services up to HCIIIs levels and in communities • Increasing coverage for LTPM through scheduled and event specific outreaches within existing public health facilities using NGO services • CBD of FP using VHTs • Mobilizing political, civic and social support for FP services

Testing Innovations and Expanding Access to interventions (3) Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health: • Strengthening youth structure and participation in national and sub-national decision making processes • Integrating youth sexuality education and school nurse programmes in all secondary schools with clinic facilities • Institutionalizing youth sexuality education in curriculum, school health policies, EMIS, etc. • Increasing coverage for youth friendly services for in-school and out of school youth

Testing Innovations and Expanding Access to interventions (4) HIV Prevention: • Re-institutionalizing HIV prevention for uniformed forces (defence, police) and sex workers/IDPs (MOGLSD) within sectors and CSO networks • Strengthening national capacity for communication for individual and social change. • Strengthening national capacity for integration of HIV/AIDS with SRH. • Working with social structures (Religious and cultural institutions) to address the socio-economic drivers of HIV/AIDS • Increasing capacity and coverage for Comprehensive Condom Programming, including female condoms 05_XXX_MM10

Expanding use of uniject or depo injection by VHTs • Adolescents: • Promoting/expanding use of emergency pills for adolescents and those in need for university students • HIV: • Expanding use of female condom 2 (fc2) in Uganda 05_XXX_MM11

  15. (4) HIV Prevention Development of National Strategy for the Integration of HIV/AIDS with SRH Development of National Guideline for BCC and CSC, including for discordant couples. Development of Operational Plan for MARPS in Uganda Development of strategic plans for HIV prevention in uniformed forces (Police & Army); sex work and disabled persons (MoGLSD) and fishing communities (MAAIF) Developing policies, norms, tools, guidelines and strategies

  16. Technical Support to Sectors & Districts/CSOs (1) TA Plan exists with MoH for 5-Year period: • Long Term TA Plan: RH Adviser; RH Associate; Country Midwifery Adviser • Short Term TA Plan for: • Conducting strategic assessments; research; development of norms, standards and guidelines; etc. (2) Providing expert opinion on RH/HIV/AIDS issues • Membership in TWG & Task Forces, (3) Capacity building for sectors/districts/CSOs (3) Mobilising new resources, with possible CSR with private sectors (4) Fund management for efficient use of resources

  17. Linkage with SRO/RO/Global Office • At the global level • Sharing of plans, reports and best practice documentation when required • Participation in Working Group meetings, workshops, expert group meetings • Translating/domesticating global commitments to national level efforts (e.g. H4, Partnership with Care) • At the regional/sub-regional level • Sharing of plans, reports and best practice documentation when required (e.g. MPDR; FP – LTPM & CBD) • Participation in Working Group meetings, workshops, expert group meetings • Translating/domesticating regional commitments to national level efforts • Participating in capacity building fora
