  2. INTRODUCTION One of the most widely consumed addictive substances worldwide is tobacco. Historically, it is one of the most significant crops raised by American farmers. Tobacco refers to any Nicotiana plant, particularly N. tabacum. It is native to tropical America. It is widely cultivated for its leaves. These leaves are dried and processed primarily for pipes, cigarettes, andcigars.Theycanalsobecutintochewingtobaccoorground into snuff or dipping tobacco, among other less common preparations.ThemostvaluablecashcropexportedfromBritish North America and the United States from 1617 to 1793 was tobacco.

TOBACCO PRICE The price of tobacco gets influenced by crop yields, which changedependingonregionalweatherconditions.Tobacco is an agricultural commodity product, similar to agricultural foodstuffs in economic terms. Additionally, the cost varies depending on the species or cultivar grown, the overall quantityavailableforpurchase,theregionandotherfactors specifictoproductquality. Although the tobacco industry contributes to the agricultural, fiscal, manufacturing, and exporting sectors of the economy, therehasbeenasharpdeclineinofficialsupportfortobaccoproducersandmanufacturerssince1964asaresultofconclusive medical evidence of the deadly effects of tobacco consumption. Globally, there are more laws and policies restricting tobacco use,buteachyear,almost6 trillion cigarettesarestillproduced.

  4. CONSEQUENCES OF TOBACCO CONSUMPTION Theevidence-basedtreatyrequiresits181ratifiedmember states to implement public health policies about tobacco control. It aims to shield the current and following generations from the harmful effects of tobacco use and exposuretotobaccosmokeontheirhealth,aswellastheir social,environmental,andeconomicwell-being.
