  1. GeorgeGallego GEORGE GALLEGO is the founder and CEO of Wheels of Progress. He has lived with a pinal cord injury since 1992 .A freak accident at the age of 23 ended George's carefree lifestyle of playing ball, skiing, swimming and camping. The former circulation manager of a major newspaper fell the equivalent of three stories after stumbling through a railing at a Manhattan warehouse. He severed his spinal cord and was paralyzed from the waist down.

  2. Founded Wheels of Progress for Disable people • Today more than 14,000 residents in Senior Nursing Facilities are young people living with disabilities (ages 13 +). Each year more than 600 newly injured people with spinal cord injuries are placed in nursing homes because their homes are not accessible. As a result, over half a billion dollars of Medicaid funding per year is spent to “warehouse” young people with disabilities in institutions. • GEORGE GALLEGO is the founder and CEO of Wheels of Progress .
