We are selecting the tone of our posts to embrace all facets of equestrian business at all levels. So, in a nutshell, perhaps this will resonate for you. The topic of today’s blog is a simple word that can make many people shutter when they read it...branding.

  3. The word brand is defined as a type of product manufactured by a particular company under a particular name. So it makes sense that the term branding is the promotion of a particular product or company by means of advertising and distinctive design. With that in mind, branding can be a powerful tool when used correctly in your equestrian business. It can help you connect with your current and potential customers, create a voice in the industry and help you to stand out from your competitors. So first, helping you connect with your current and potential customers: By effectively creating a recognizable brand within the equestrian industry, you're essentially developing something for someone to be a part of. Think of it like a club. You're creating a safe place, a happy place for your club members to feel comfortable and accepted. In doing this, you create a voice for your business that becomes loud, clear and resonates with your target audience. Your brand is about giving your business a personality, an identity and a unique voice. When you brand your equestrian business, you are creating an identity that builds trust and defines your personality. For lack of a better term, it’s saying "welcome to the club". Your brand is the way you position your business in the marketplace. A strong brand will differentiate you from your competitors and will help you to stand out from the crowd. By branding your equestrian business, you are creating a name that people will remember. You are creating a name that has a story behind it. Your brand represents you and also helps other people find and connect with you.

It gives you a voice that is heard and creates a connection that is strong. It helps to build trust with your current and potential customers which will ultimately help you grow. So how do you create a brand that works? It starts with identifying your target audience. You have to know who that is, and then create a voice that resonates with them. Your brand needs to be relevant to your target audience and should be something that they want to be a part of. Something that they will remember and identify with. As an equestrian business, you need to be able to connect with your customer. Whether that customer is someone that’s part of your current program, a new rider to train or a potential trainer to do business with, you need to create a feeling, a feeling of connection and relationship. Its best to understand what your customer wants and needs, and then deliver a product/service that is relevant to them. You need to be an expert in your industry, and you need to be seen as an expert by your customer. So where do you start? Well, we are not going to lie. It’s going to take some time and effort. However, the rewards are worth it!
