CPITN Probe - Dent Ganga

The CPITN Probe primarily serves as a screening device to identify the presence or absence of gingival bleeding, calculus, or periodontal pockets. Use of a specific CPITN periodontal probe is indicated (or an equivalent). For epidemiological purposes, 10 designated index teeth are checked in adult populations; only six designated index teeth are tested in groups under 20.
