COLONIAL AND POST- INDEPENDENCE PERIOD: In the 19th century, disputes between Hindu and Muslim communities over the site began to surface. LEGAL BATTLES BEGIN: In 1950, the first legal case related to the Ayodhya dispute was filed. FORMATION OF LIBERHAN COMMISSION In the aftermath of the Babri Masjid demolition, the government established the Liberhan Commission to investigate the events leading up to the incident.
